In sports we usually see players who have been around, for a long time. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is different. He is 14 years old. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has changed everything. On Friday Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a game that was very exciting. He played well that he did not just win the game. Vaibhav Suryavanshi changed the records of youth cricket.
India was playing against England in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Final at the Harare Sports Club.
Suryavanshi did something amazing. He scored 175 runs in just 80 balls. The way Suryavanshi hit the ball was incredible. India was able to score a big total of 411/9 because of Suryavanshi. The English bowlers and the people watching the game were completely shocked by what they saw. Suryavanshi played a game of cricket. The ICC Under-19 World Cup Final was a deal and Suryavanshi made it even more exciting.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Scores 175 Off 80 Against England
Suryavanshi’s innings was like two games. At first Suryavanshi was very careful which is not what we are used to seeing from Suryavanshi. Suryavanshi scored 10 runs from 13 balls as Suryavanshi got to know the pitch, in Zimbabwe.. Then Suryavanshi started to play really well. Suryavanshi became very good at hitting the ball. Suryavanshi did some amazing things on the field.
The batsman got fifty runs in thirty two balls and he did not stop scoring. He kept going and got his hundred runs in fifty five balls. This is the second fastest in the Under 19 World Cup history. What happened next was an attack, by the batsman:

Vaibhav scored 150 of his 175 runs from boundaries. He did this before he was caught behind in the 26th over. By that time he had already beaten Unmukt Chand’s score of 112. So he got the individual score, in a U19 World Cup final. The U19 World Cup final is a deal and this guy did something amazing in it.
Shattering Global Records
Suryavanshi’s batting was really something. It was not about the match because people all around the world were talking about Suryavanshi’s knock. He scored 175 runs. That is now the highest score by one player in any International Cricket Council tournament final. This score is higher than the 170 runs scored by Alyssa Healy from Australia in the 2022 Women’s World Cup. Suryavanshi also did something that no one else has done before in Youth One Day International history. He hit 100 sixes. This is really amazing because Suryavanshi is still very young and will not be 15 years old, until month.
Suryavanshi’s batting is very impressive. People are excited to see what he will do next in his cricket career.
The bowlers from England led by James Minto and Alex Green did not have a time. They tried their best.
Suryavanshi kept hitting big shots. He played some great drives and pulls. Captain Ayush Mhatre scored 53 runs. Played a good supporting role.. The whole day was all about Suryavanshi, the young player, from Bihar.
We will have to see if he shows his magic in IPL or not.
Suryavanshi has already made an impact in the Indian Premier League with the Rajasthan Royals. He is not just someone who people think might be good at cricket someday. Suryavanshi is actually really good at cricket now. What he did today is very impressive. He helped India set a high score of 412 for England to try and beat. This means India might win the Under 19 title for a record time. Suryavanshi and the India team are doing a job. The Rajasthan Royals must be happy, with how Suryavanshi’s playing cricket.
