A sense of profound grief has enveloped the BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur over a heart-breaking road accident that led to the death of a bright future doctor. Aakash Pandey, a third year MBBS student, died as a result of a collision on the Mohaddipur flyover. This is an irreparable loss not only for his family but also for his friends and other members of the medical community.

    The Fatal Accident

The Accident occurred on a late evening, while Aakash was travelling across the Mohaddipur flyover, a prominent traffic point in Gorakhpur. According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary police reports:

Aakash was reportedly on his motorcycle when he was involved in a high-impact collision with another vehicle. Onlookers and the local police rush to the scene. He was rushed to the emergency department of BRD Medical College, where his teachers and classmates did their best for him. However, the injuries were so bad that it was too late for him. Although he was given intensive medical treatment, Aakash died very soon after the arrival.

    A Bright Career Cut Short

Aakash Pandey was considered an excellent and hardworking student by most everyone. Currently, he was in the third year of his MBBS program. He had done a big part of his medical training and was almost ready for clinical work.

Friends and faculty members describe him as an academic achiever with a compassionate heart. These are the traits of a great doctor. After his death, the whole campus remembered him through many messages and students made a candlelight vigil to commemorate him.

    Investigation and Safety Concerns

Gorakhpur police have registered a case and are looking into the details of the accident. Police are analyzing CCTV footage from the flyover to find the other vehicle that left the place after the accident, reportedly. This accident has once again raised the issue of the safety of the Mohaddipur flyover. Locals have demanded better lighting and speed control measures to avoid such accidents in the future. Before the body was released to the mourning family for the last rites, a post-mortem was done in a proper manner.

The administration of BRD Medical College offered sincere condolences stating that the loss of a student is also the loss of the institution as a whole. “Aakash was more than just a student; he was a part of our family. His absence will be felt deeply in the classrooms and the wards”, stated a senior faculty.
