At the Zila Panchayat Office in Rampur, Clerk Asgar Ali fatally shot lawyer Mohd Farukh, 45-Year-Old after Farukh slapped him in a heated exchange, Ali fired his licensed Gun injuring both himself and Farukh.

Heated Exchange Turns Fatal

The incident started when the two men Asgar Ali, the Clerk of the Zila Panchayat Office and Mohd Farukh, a 45-Year-Old Advocate were seen by witnesses having a “heated exchange”. The reason for their disagreement and other such details are currently under investigation. The argument got so heated that Farukh slapped Ali during the verbal duel.

Ali, it is said reacted in a moment of extreme anger, pulled out his licensed gun and fired several shots. The place might have been their workplace, where they’d usually deal with government paperwork but after the arrival of the police it became the scene of a serious crime.

Both men were hurt in the struggle, Farukh was sent without delay to the closest hospital in an emergency move to keep him alive. Unfortunately, he died of his wounds on the way to the hospital and the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Ali, who sustained injuries during the fight as well was arrested by the police soon after the shooting.

Legal Actions

The Rampur police have acted swiftly in the aftermath of the shooting.
FIR has been officially registered naming Asgar Ali as the accused.
The Gun which was used to commit the homicide has been Confiscated as major evidence.
Law enforcement officials are interviewing witnesses to the incident and going through any footage that might be available so as to precisely piece together the chain of events that resulted in the slap being followed by gunfire.
