In a shocking act of lawlessness, a student was brutally attacked by armed men on a school bus that was making its way through Meerut on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The incident which happened during the broad daylight has raised worries about the students’ safety in the area.

Terror on Hapur Road: Assault on a Student

The attack came to pass on Hapur Road, close to Haji Pur Village, when a school bus was transporting students. The details disclosed that the school bus was stopped by bike riders.

The victim of the assault was Jatin Tyagi, a student in the bus. The witnesses to the incident narrated a terrifying moment when one of the perpetrators pulled out a pistol to frighten the driver and other students. The student refused to cooperate when the perpetrators tried to take him away from the bus and later they forcibly removed him from the bus and took him out on the road.

After the student was pulled off the bus, they brutally beat him up. The perpetrators reportedly used several objects to inflict the injuries before they escaped on their motorcycles. Jatin suffered from significant injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency care without delay. At present, he is still under medical care as his health status is being closely checked by the doctors.

Police Action and Suspects Identified

The Meerut Police did not delay in taking action after receiving the incident report. Besides registering a FIR, the police are conducting a manhunt to capture the suspects who are thought to be involved in the assault.

The police have named two primary suspects in the FIR:
