In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) made a public disclosure on February 25, 2026, regarding the apprehension of two more terror operatives allegedly involved in the Red Fort Bomb Blast that had happened in the vicinity of Red Fort in November 2025. With these latest arrests, the number of persons held in this conspiracy case stand at 11.
The two suspects have been identified as Zameer Ahmad Ahangar of Ganderbal and Tufail Ahmad Bhat of Srinagar, both from Jammu and Kashmir.
The NIA in its press release stated that Zameer and Tufail were among the terrorists carrying out the attack who had a major role in its logistics planning. It also emerged that the two were the ones who provided the firearms to the main accused which were used in the act of terrorism.
The NIA has recognized the suspects as Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) members, a well-known terror group who serve as their Over Ground Workers (OGWs). Apart from their roles in the Delhi Blast the NIA also discovered that they were gathering arms and ammunition with a larger goal in mind which the Indian State would have been the victim of.
The inquiry is linked to the fatal blast that took place on 10th November 2025 at the Red Fort area of the national capital. The explosion killed 11 people and a few more were injured.
The main accused and alleged mastermind, Umer Un Nabi was among those who died in the explosion. Even though the main perpetrator died on the spot, the NIA has been at the forefront of the investigation leading to the identification and arrest of the entire network that supported and facilitated the crime under case number RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
The NIA credits the case victory to the intense collaboration and seamless coordination with a few state law enforcement agencies such as Jammu & Kashmir Police & Haryana Police
The investigation had earlier resulted in the detention of nine other persons who had given the conspirators the main aid in terms of shelter and logistical platforms. Some of the key characters are Muzammil Ganai, Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan, and Adeel Ahmed Rather plus five other arrested in different places belonging to J&K and Haryana.
The NIA is still putting together the pieces of evidence to ensure the discovery of all the links between AGHs network and the region. The agency is still very much concerned about dismantling the base that gives the local “lone wolf” or coordinated attack in the capital its supply from outside in the form of hardware.
